SECURITY

Last week alone there were over twenty-seven million reported and documented Detected Internet Intrusions. Imagine how many that were undetected and not reported! That means that there were millions of computer owners who may have had the confidentiality of their information compromised.

Statistically, we know how dangerous this is to our information infrastructure. Economically, we know that the losses it caused last year alone were in excess of 3 Billion dollars in the United States alone. The FBI now has a hotline to combat this cyber-crime epidemic.

The impact for all internet users is serious. The courts are now defining liabilities for those whose computers were used without their knowledge and consent to commit internet crimes. It is also unfortunate that each time a virus strikes, more and more users wake up in a panic and apply a short term solution. Common sense dictates that real security without vigilance is like putting a Band-Aid on an infection. Covering it up will not make it go away.

We have listed some fundamental resources below for our clients and website visitors to provide a glimpse of the on-going and never ending conflict between businesses and individuals and those hackers determined to violate their information.

We will be vigilant in providing up-to-date solutions to your security needs.
